At Siddhartha School, music and dance are vital components of the curriculum, providing students with opportunities for artistic expression and cultural engagement. Dance classes are organized regularly during school hours according to a set routine, ensuring that each class participates in at least one dance session per week. Additionally, after-school dance classes are available for students who wish to further hone their skills. The school has a team of three dedicated dance teachers, each responsible for a different level: one for preprimary, one for primary, and another for secondary students. To encourage a spirit of competition and showcase talent, Siddhartha organizes a yearly event called the "Dancing Idol," where students go through auditions, semi-finals, and finals. The winner is declared the Siddhartha Dancing Idol for that year.
Music is also a central focus, with singing classes held every Monday. Two specialized music teachers work with the students—one for vocal training and another for teaching various musical instruments. The students learn to play instruments such as the guitar, madal, piano, drum, harmonium, and ukulele. Beyond these, the school is also preparing a team to play the Panchebaja, a traditional Nepali set of instruments, reflecting the school's commitment to cultural heritage. Like the dance competition, Siddhartha also conducts a singing competition, following a similar format of auditions leading to finals, with winners recognized for their musical talent. Through these well-structured programs, Siddhartha School ensures that students receive a balanced and enriching education in both modern and traditional forms of music and dance.
